20.10.2014 | Report from the opening of the exposition “12 wishes”

Last Saturday (18.10) in the NEY Gallery & Prints took place premiere opening of the Green Images. Show entitled “12 wishes” was realized in collaboration with poet Renata Plaga and photographer Tomek Sikora. There were presented twelve unique Green Images, accompanied by a haiku inspired by the garden art and philosophy of Zen.
At the opening of the exhibition visitors were greeted by Monika Zielinska, Nataliya Rogalska, Renata Plaga and Tomasz Sikora – curators of the project, who briefly approached the concept of the exhibition for the guests and spoke about the presented material. Each exhibited Green Image was different and passed a special mood, emotion and message contained in the poetry of haiku. Arranged both tropical plants and succulents, Green Images created colorful compositions and delighted with variety of shapes and colors. The combination of art, nature and sophisticated design is an innovative solution for the modern man in the urban space. Poems were created as a result of finding balance and simultaneously opening to sensations arising from noisy metropolis. Guests also had the opportunity to get acquainted with photographs of Tomek Sikora, which were multi-colored and energetic reference to Green Images. Using small pieces of daily life, and wooden boxes made pictures became artistic spatial images that breaking the stereotype of the classical form of photography. All photographs shown during the opening ceremony were printed in NEY Prints.
The guests were welcomed with chilled glasses of organic Prosecco, which was served by Miro Pianca especially for us. Among the many guests who appeared at the opening ceremony were also Malgorzata Niemen, Arkadiusz Kubisiak, Andrzej Zygmuntowicz and Anna Borkowska.
Many thanks to all the guests for coming and for those who have not had the opportunity to see the work of the Green Photos and Tomek Sikora we have good news. The exhibition lasted until November 4 in Ney Gallery & Prints. Enjoy!
